It's a Struggle

It's been weeks since my last post.  I've been consumed with daily life and events that "need my attention right now!"  While things haven't slowed down just yet, I am able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  We moved to a new apartment last week that is temporary until our "permanent" apartment is ready for move-in; approximately 30 days.  Then we get to move AGAIN.  This sounds crazy, but the next move will be to a much quieter apartment with a view of a large pond.  I'm ready to get my daily schedule on a manageable track.  I'm renewed in Christ and ready for Spring!  Exercise daily, walk with the Lord.

Whew!

I've been on the sidelines for over a week now due to newly acquired allergies.  Today, I'm feeling much better and I hope to get back on track.  I can't believe the weather forecast for Saturday is "cold as winter" temperatures.  Oh well, I will go to the gym and hop back on the treadmill once again!  Maybe next week will be nice and warm enough to walk outside.  I have Spring Fever!!

Mountain Climbing...

...or just a really high incline on the treadmill.  What could stop me?  Shin splints?  Sore feet?  No, neither of these stopped me today.  I soldiered on, waiting for the pain reliever I took just minutes before my workout to kick in.  After 20 minutes on incline 6 at a pace of 4mph and I got some, if only a little, relief from my shin splints.  The next 5 minutes would be much better and I could have gone on for another 20, but Erik said he had to go.  I wanted to run today, but climbing the hill at a slower pace seemed to be the only thing I could manage.  Looking forward to tomorrow when I tell myself, "Run, Karen, Run!"

Walk, Jog or Run

Do I enjoy walking, jogging, or running?  Yes, sometimes I do; but not more than when it's over!  There's nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment of a task that is so physically challenging.  I feel awesome when I'm done working out.  It's the "climbing the mountain" mentality that gets me through it.  I'm not so fond of climbing the mountain, but when I arrive at the top....breathtaking views I wouldn't have seen had I not challenged myself.  God gave me this body & I know He expects me to take care of it.  I'm going to keep climbing.

Inspired Writer

Over the weekend I had a pretty good idea for baby showers & wedding showers.  It's a book of sorts.  This spawned the research of publishing & marketing this idea.  This research somehow lit a fire of ideas for children's books.  I now have a series of children's books in my head which I am feverishly trying to type out.  Needless to say, I am SUPER-PUMPED!  I can't remember the last time I was this excited about something.  It's definitely God-driven.
